"Identity is the understanding of where we're from, who we are and what we want to become. As a multi-disciplinary artist, I work with film, photography and sound to better understand and display the trauma, triumph and beauty of what it means to be me. The truth is tricky, and the goal is not to create an absolute truth but rather provoke conversations that question my thought process. My artistry has evolved from reparation and become more about the preservation and restoration of my self-identity in relation to my blackness. By questioning what I know, I can grow and relearn through experimentation."
